Keeping parents, students & group leaders connected through groups, events & social posts
Six things to do, and a grown-up on every one
Fishbowl isn't one app bolted to another. Learning, community and a first taste of running something of your own all live in the same place — with the same guardrails.
-
Groups
Join a class, club or school group with a code. Every group is run by a verified group leader, and joining can need a parent's yes.
-
Learn & Grow
Courses laid out as a winding path — lessons, quizzes and badges — so progress is something a kid can actually see themselves making.
-
Events
Workshops, meetups and competitions on a real calendar. Registrations route to a parent for approval before anything is confirmed.
-
My Business
Kids invent a business, name it, design a logo and share it. Entrepreneurship as a thing you do, not a subject you read about.
-
Gil, the AI mentor
A patient, age-appropriate mentor to think out loud with. Every conversation stays visible to the parent — nothing is hidden.
-
Discover & Marketplace
Find friends and groups by interest, and spend earned points on fish customisations — with purchases held for parent approval.
Three steps, and the first one isn't the kid's
Getting in takes a few minutes. Getting in without a grown-up takes forever, because it can't be done.
-
A grown-up sets it up
A parent or the child's institution creates the account. Kids can't sign themselves up — an activation code is the only way in.
-
Build your fish
Pick a body, colour and accessories, choose the things you're into, and write down what you want to get good at.
-
Dive in
Join groups, take courses, post to your community and earn badges — inside a space a parent can see into at any time.
Four ways in, one bowl
Everyone around a child gets their own view of the same place — and the permissions that go with it.
-
Students
Ages 4–17. Learn, build, post and run a first small business — inside a space small enough that a grown-up can see all of it.
-
Parents & Guardians
You create the account, verify you're an adult, hold the wallet, and approve anything that costs money or time.
-
Group Leaders
Run a group, publish lessons, set challenges and host events. Your institution invites you — there's no open sign-up.
-
Schools & Institutions
Bring a whole cohort on board, invite your team, and keep every group under one roof you control.
A small pond, on purpose
The internet was not built for a nine-year-old. Fishbowl is a bounded version of it — small enough that a parent can see the whole thing, big enough that a kid wants to be there.
Safety here isn't a setting. It's the shape of the product.
Most platforms add parental controls to an adult product. We started from the other end: a child cannot create an account, a stranger cannot arrive uninvited, and the things that cost money or time stop at a parent first.
-
Invite-only by design
There is no open sign-up for a child. Accounts come from a parent or a verified institution, via an activation code.
-
Verified parents
Parents confirm they're an adult through Kids Web Services before their child's account becomes fully active.
-
Approval before action
Event sign-ups and marketplace purchases wait in a parent's inbox. Nothing spends money or commits time without a yes.
-
Mirror View
A parent can open their child's app exactly as the child sees it — read-only — and undo a post, a like or a group join.
The things parents ask first
How old does my child need to be?
Fishbowl is built for ages 4 to 17. Younger children get a simpler experience with more parent involvement; older ones unlock the business and marketplace tools.
How does my child get an account?
Two ways, and neither is your child signing themselves up. Either you create a parent account and add them, or their school or club invites them and sends an activation code.
Can strangers contact my child?
No. There are no public direct messages and no open discovery of your child by adults. Friend requests come from within groups your child has already joined, and you can undo any connection from Mirror View.
What is Mirror View?
It opens your child's app exactly as they see it — their feed, groups, messages with Gil, everything — read-only. You can't post as them, but you can remove a post, undo a like, or take them out of a group.
Does it cost anything?
Creating a parent account and joining groups your school provides is free. Some courses, events and marketplace items are paid, and every one of them needs your approval before a penny moves.
What do you do with my child's data?
We collect what's needed to run the account and nothing else. We don't sell it, we don't serve behavioural advertising to children, and you can delete the account and its data at any time. The Privacy Policy has the specifics.
